I spend 10 days on a field trip, mainly in White Fish Falls, ON, mapping. While the map was cool, for me the best part was forming and strengthening relationships with my class mates. My mapping partner was super cool and the four days in the field really gave us a chance to get to know each other. It is amazing what you can learn and what comes out after 25+ hours of alone time in the woods, looking for outcrops and navigating copious amounts of juniper.
As I get older and live life more I really engage in and appreciate my relationships more and more. People are really amazing and there's something you can learn from every person you meet.
However, on the flip side, I have also learned that some people are toxic in your life. As important as it is to nurture your loving relationships it is also important to sometimes prune your life of toxicity and negativity.
